JOB DESCRIPTION FOR APPLICATION DEVELOPER

 

As an employee of Marieke Consulting, Inc. you will be working as a government contractor supporting financial, project management, staffing, and business software applications used by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

 

We are looking for a self-starter who is able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks without close supervision.  The developer will analyze, design, develop, test and implement software applications using languages and technologies such as: .NET ASP, .NET C#, Java, Telerik, Oracle, JavaScript, SQL, WSDL, OBIEE and the Oracle BPM Suite. 

 

This position requires teamwork with members of the software development team and government personnel.
 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • SharePoint environment, particularly the integration with MS applications.
  • Power Pivot and DAX formula language.
  • Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Tableau.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Familiar with full life-cycle development (SDLC) processes and configuration management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Ability to provide technical support to various users, including ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.

  • Proven ability to learn new technologies and to adapt to new environments.

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance (SF 85P)

 

Scope: Functional and technical contractor with experience on the automation of data provisioning and reporting processes. The contractor will be assisting on building local applications to improve data acquisition, integration, control and reporting processes. 

 

 DUTIES

  • Write and execute SQL queries on SQL Server, Oracle and MS Access databases.

  • Create SQL Server database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, etc.

  • Write MS Access VBA code to develop desktop and web applications.

  • Create MS Access forms code to manage data

  • Import and Export data into and out of the MS Access applications.

  • Write VBA code to automate tasks.

  • Organize and Normalize data into tables.

  • Manage data quality controls.

  • Manage process controls.

  • Guide the development plan and help continuously improve the database and applications.



SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
  (Extensive experience = 5+ years)

  • 4+ years experience with SQL scripting.

  • Experience with SQL Server 2012 (SSMS) or later.

  • Experience with MS Access 2010 application development.

  • Experience with VBA coding.

  • Experience with relational database structures.

  • Experience with integrating MS Excel into an Access database.

  • Experience with Data analysis and data mapping and migration.

  • Experience with integrating data from external sources.

  • Strong written communication skills and ability to communicate with management teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  

  • Zealous attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics.

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE (Not required but helpful)
